ALBANY - The College of Saint Rose women's soccer team returns to the pitch this evening as the Golden Knights welcome the University of New Haven to Sullivan Field for a 5:00 pm Northeast-10 Conference clash. The contest can be seen live via the web by visiting www.gogoldenknights.tv

LAST MEETING (10/31/10)
Saint Rose took a 5-0 victory against eighth-seed New Haven in the quarterfinals of the Northeast-10 Conference Tournament last October 31. The Golden Knights received goals from five different players, with sophomore midfielder Sydney Bond setting up three of the strikes.

Saint Rose controlled play throughout the majority of the contest and a took a 2-0 lead into halftime, before breaking the game open with three goals in a 17-minute span during the early stages of the second stanza. Senior midfielders Christina Cuffari, Kimberly Morton, and Brittany Godin all scored for the Golden Knights; along with senior forward Nicola D'Errico and sophomore forward Carmelina Puopolo

SCOUTING #7 SAINT ROSE (11-0-1/8-0-1 NE-10)
The Golden Knights, who are ranked #7 in this week's NSCAA/Continental Tire NCAA Division II Poll, chalked up a victory in their lone match last week with Saturday's 2-1 win against visiting Saint Anselm. Saint Rose has now been listed among the nation's top-10 teams in each of the past 36 NSCAA polls. The last time the Golden Knights were out of the top-10 was November 11, 2008 when they were listed at #21.

Saint Rose has been formidable on both sides of the pitch this season. The Golden Knights are second among NCAA Division II institutions with 4.17 goals-per-game and stand eighth behind a 0.323 team goals-against-average.

Freshman forward Brittany Barry and Puopolo are eighth and 11th respectively in point production. Barry has 26 points on the strength of 12 goals and a pair of assists, while Puopolo has 25 points via 10 goals and five assists. She is also third nationally with five game-winning strikes. In the back, sophomore keeper Jessica Gerski is 14th in the nation with a 0.426 GAA.

SCOUTING NEW HAVEN (6-5-0/4-5-0 NE-10)
The Chargers have dropped two of their last three outings after falling 2-0 versus UMass Lowell on Saturday.

Freshman midfielder Amber Simms and junior midfielder Lucy Francisco have accounted for half of the team's scoring production thus far. Simms has nine points on four goals and one assist. Meanwhile, Francisco has four markers, including three that have gone for game-winners.

Senior keeper Kim Taylor has collected 49 saves, two shutouts and a 1.06 GAA between the posts.

UP NEXT
Saint Rose has a key NE-10 match at Merrimack College this Saturday. The Warriors, who are off to a 9-1 start in league play, are scheduled to host the Golden Knights at 1:00 pm. New Haven returns home Sunday for a 1:00 pm conference match against Stonehill College.
