COLCHESTER, VT – Host Saint Michael's scored three times in the second half to hand The College of Saint Rose a 3-0 setback in what marked the 2010 Northeast-10 Conference opener for both clubs today.

Patrik Ohlsson recorded seven saves for the Golden Knights (1-1-0/0-1-0 NE-10), who were outshot by an 18-7 margin.
Senior forward Rob Pierce struck first for Saint Michael's (2-0-0/1-0-0 NE-10) when he finished a serve from freshman midfielder Anthony Stanley with 13:55 elapsed in the second stanza.
Sophomore Dana DiPinto extended the lead with his first collegiate goal, tapping in a lob from senior midfielder Ryan Gannon 18 minutes later. Senior back Andrew Scanlon knocked in an insurance strike off a rebound from Pierce's direct kick that drilled the crossbar in the 87th minute.
Up next, both teams have home non-conference dates on tap. Saint Michael's will host Lyndon State at 4:00 pm Thursday, while the Golden Knights will welcome Mercy to Sullivan Field at the Plumeri Sports Complex on Saturday. Kickoff is set for 6:30 pm.
