SAINT ROSE BLANKS AIC TO SNAP THREE-MATCH SKID

Freshman Jennifer Crego evened her league mark at 5-5 in singles action
ALBANY – The College of Saint Rose women's tennis team chalked up three wins by default and four team members combined for two victories apiece in a 9-0 Northeast-10 Conference victory over American International College this afternoon. The Golden Knights (2-9/2-8 NE-10) snapped a three-match skid and kept the Yellow Jackets winless (0-7/0-7 NE-10) in the process.

Freshman Jennifer Crego evened her league record at 5-5 in singles play for Saint Rose following a 6-1, 6-0 triumph over sophomore Amanda McLean. Crego also teamed up with sophomore Stephanie Belz to take an 8-0 decision at #2 doubles.

Belz was also on the winning side in singles action after taking a 6-1, 6-0 win over sophomore Hilary Cooke. Meanwhile, junior Missy Leighton and sophomore Erin Reeg walked away with singles victories as well for the Golden Knights.

Looking ahead, Saint Rose remains home Sunday afternoon when it entertains Saint Anslem College in another NE-10 match that is scheduled to get underway at 12:00 pm.
