ALBANY – The College of Saint Rose jumped out to a 12-0 lead and never looked back en route to a 65-50 victory against visiting Northeast-10 Conference rival Adelphi University tonight at the Daniel P. Nolan Gymnasium.

Ali Johnson tossed in nine points and tied her career-highs with 12 rebounds and four blocks to pace the Golden Knights (4-1/1-1 NE-10). Junior guard
Ashley Rath led all scorers with 20 points, while senior guard
Lynsey Timbrouck wound up with 15 points and five assists.
Timbrouck opened the game with a jumper and converted a conventional three-point play, before Rath put-back her own miss and junior forward
Jessica Walton knocked down her first 3-pointer in a Saint Rose uniform to put the Golden Knights in control.
Saint Rose pushed its advantage to as many as 16 points, 26-10, in the first half after senior forward
Amy Voelkel finished a fast break with 8:59 remaining.
The Panthers (1-2/0-2 NE-10) whittled their deficit to a dozen, 32-20, at intermission; and opened the second half with a 9-3 spurt that pulled them to within six, 35-29, with 14:29 to go. However, Saint Rose responded immediately. Junior guard

Emily Trapp canned a 3-pointer from the top of the key to push the advantage back to 11, 40-29, a minute later.
Adelphi got to within single digits on two occasions midway through the period, but was never able to make a serious run. The Golden Knights conversely sealed the outcome by outscoring the Panthers 15-5 throughout a late five minute span that boosted their advantage to 19, 65-46, in the final two minutes.
Shajuyigbe infused nine points and a pair of assists during 16 minutes of reserve duty into the Saint Rose offense, while sophomore center Samantha Breidenbach led Adelphi with 13 points.
Looking ahead, the Golden Knights play six of their next seven games on the road. They'll head to Pleasantville on Sunday for a date at league rival Pace University. Meanwhile, Adelphi returns home to entertain NE-10 foe Assumption on Sunday as well. Both games are scheduled for 1:30 pm starts.
