EASTON, MA – The College of Saint Rose kept its unblemished record intact and furthermore delivered the 200th career victory to head coach Laurie Darling Gutheil who is in her 15th year at the helm. Saint Rose (10-0-0/7-0-0 NE-10), ranked #1 for the third consecutive week according to the most recent NSCAA/HendrickCars.com NCAA Division II Poll, scored three times in the first period to secure their 10th victory this autumn.

Senior midfielder Amanda Deck had a hand in setting up three different teammates to lead the Golden Knights attack.

Junior forward Gianna D'Errico scored her sixth goal within the past six matches, on an assist from both Deck and her twin sister Nicola D'Errico, to make it a 1-0 affair just nine minutes in. Junior midfielder Christina Cuffari tallied what stood up as the game-winner in the 19th minute, before freshman forward Carmelina Puopolo scored the third Saint Rose marker in the 38th.

Meanwhile, senior keeper Deanna Esposito recorded three saves throughout the opening 45-minutes to lower her goals-against-average to 0.23 on the year.

Stonehill (5-4-1/4-3-1 NE-10) eventually got on the scoreboard when junior midfielder Kelsey Mahoney found the back of the net midway through the second half.

As for Darling Gutheil, the astute mentor has guided Saint Rose to seven NCAA Tournament berths within the past eight years, including back-to-back national semifinal appearances in 2008 and 2009.

Looking ahead, both teams are back on the pitch Tuesday with conference matches on tap. Saint Rose has a 3:45 pm kickoff at Pace University in Pleasantville, while Stonehill is set to visit Bentley for a 3:30 pm date in Waltham, MA.
