COLCHESTER, VT – The College of Saint Rose scored with less than five minutes remaining in each half to hand host Saint Michael's a 2-0 setback in what marked the 2009 Northeast-10 Conference opener for both squads today.
The Golden Knights (3-0/1-0 NE-10), ranked #4 in the NSCAA/Adidas Division II preseason poll, outshot the host Purple Knights (1-2/0-1 NE-10) 13-3 and generated six corner kicks, while allowing one.

Sophomore keeper
Susan Cowan needed to make a mere one save for Saint Rose, which blanked its second straight opponent. Meanwhile, sophomore Ashleigh Adams turned aside five shots-on-goal for Saint Michael's.
The Golden Knights are scheduled to get back on the match Monday with a 1:00 pm conference match at Adelphi University on Long Island. Meanwhile, Saint Michael's has a 4:00 pm non-league date with visiting Bridgeport Wednesday.
