ALBANY – The College of Saint Rose women's volleyball team hit just .102 and committed eight service errors to seal its fate in a 3-0 (23-25, 10-25, 22-25) setback versus Northeast-10 Conference newcomer Adelphi University this afternoon at the Daniel P. Nolan Gymnasium. The Panthers (12-6/3-0 NE-10), who upended the Golden Knights (9-5/1-2 NE-10) just 15 days ago at the East Stroudsburg Tournament, remained one of four NE-10 clubs yet to suffer a conference loss.
Junior middle hitter
Kelly Ryan led Saint Rose with eight kills and six blocks. Senior right side hitter
Jaclyn Griffin and sophomore outside hitter
Sarah Kahrs contributed five kills apiece, while senior libero
Mary German paced the defense with 13 digs.
Junior outside hitter Hilary Pavels spearheaded a balanced attack for Adelphi, which had five players register at least five kills. Pavels recorded 17 digs to go with eight kills, while senior middle hitters Chelsea Overholt and Kelsey Hackett each added seven kills.
The Golden Knights are scheduled to return to action Tuesday evening as they close a three-match home stand in a non-conference meeting with Mercy College at 7:00 pm. The Panthers, who are in the midst of a four-match road trip, travel to Saint Anselm College Friday for a 7:30 pm league contest.
