EASTON MA – The College of Saint Rose suffered an 8-1 setback in a Northeast-10 Conference match at Stonehill this afternoon. The Golden Knights (0-5/0-4 NE-10) dropped all three doubles matches and five of the six singles matches on the day. Two of those setbacks came via default.
Freshman
Jennifer Crego chalked up the lone point for the Golden Knights with a 6-4, 6-3 defeat of Stonehill (1-0/1-0 NE-10) sophomore Amy Toegemann at the top singles flight. Crego has now won each of her last two singles matches.
Junior
Missy Leighton and sophomore
Erin Reeg fell 8-2 at the top doubles flight to senior Samantha Dirks and Toegemann. In the second doubles match, junior
Kimberly Schacher and Crego suffered an 8-3 setback to sophomores Leah White and Bacall Brooks. Meanwhile, all four singles contests were decided in straight sets.
Up next, Saint Rose will head to conference rival Adelphi on Saturday for a noon match on Long Island. Meanwhile, Stonehill gets back on the courts Wednesday for a 6:00 pm home match versus Franklin Pierce.
