EASTON, MA – The College of Saint Rose allowed host Stonehill to score a goal in each half in a 2-1 Northeast-10 Conference setback this afternoon. The Golden Knights generated a 10-4 edge in corner kicks and an 8-6 advantage in shots on goal, but still came up short.
Junior forward
Justin Little registered his first tally in a Saint Rose (1-4/0-2 NE-10) uniform midway through the first half to account for the Golden Knights strike. Sophomore midfielder Ross McWilliams and junior midfielder Michael Bridges both found the back of the net for the Skyhawks (5-1/1-1 NE-10).
Sophomore keeper
Patrik Ohlsson made four saves for Saint Rose, while junior Brandon McFarlane turned aside four shots on goal, including three in the first half, for Stonehill.
Little made it 1-1 when he settled a loose ball and connected on a shot from the top of the box at the 28:52 mark, 13 minutes after McWilliams opened the scoring when he collected the ball near midfield, turned and fired a 30-yard screamer to the upper right corner of the goal.
Bridges then redirected a cross from junior midfielder Tyler Hebert for the game-winner at 54:13.
Up next, both teams have 4:00 pm conference matches Wednesday. Saint Rose has a road date at New Haven, while Stonehill will host Southern New Hampshire.
