EAST STROUDSBURG, PA – The College of Saint Rose women's volleyball team pushed its win streak to eight Friday night by sweeping a pair of matches at the East Stroudsburg Tournament. The Golden Knights, who have now opened a season 8-0 for the first time in their 19-year NCAA era, upended Holy Family University 3-1 (25-27, 25-19, 25-22, 25-23) in the day's first match. Saint Rose then came away with a 3-2 (25-23, 25-22, 18-25, 15-25, 15-10) triumph over Caldwell College in the nightcap.
In the opener, Saint Rose (8-0) overcame a 27-25 setback in the first set by winning three consecutive sets to produce the 3-1 win over Holy Family. The Golden Knights received nine kills from senior right side hitter

In the final match of the day, Saint Rose went up 2-0 following 25-23 and 25-22 wins in the first two sets. However, Caldwell bounced back with 25-18 and 25-15 victories of its own to pull the match even at 2-2. The Golden Knights were up to the challenge, walking away with a 15-10 triumph in the fifth and deciding set.
Staulo dished out a season-high 45 assists to go with two blocks. German wound up six digs shy of her career-high with 44, while junior middle hitter
Kelly Ryan and Griffin combined for 19 kills and seven blocks.
Saint Rose puts its unblemished record on the line tomorrow when it takes on host East Stroudsburg at 11:00 am. The Golden Knights then meet league rival Adelphi University in a non-conference match at 1:00 pm to close out their stay in Pennsylvania.
