LOWELL, MA – Host UMass Lowell posted a collective .299 hitting percentage to hand The College of Saint Rose a 3-0 setback in Northeast-10 Conference action this afternoon. The River Hawks (10-6/5-1 NE-10) recorded 36 kills with only 10 attack errors throughout 87 swings to chalk up their fifth win in the last seven outings.
UMass Lowell took the first game 25-11 and won the final two sets by identical 25-14 scores. The River Hawks made an early impression in all three games. They jumped out to a 13-2 lead in the opener, went up 10-3 in the second set and built a 10-1 advantage in the finale.

For UMass Lowell, junior outside hitter Vicky Wong had 10 kills and a like number of digs, while fellow junior outside hitter Jillian Hadder finished with nine kills and eight digs.
Looking ahead, Saint Rose faces upstate rival Le Moyne Wednesday in Syracuse. First serve is scheduled for 7:00 pm. Meanwhile, UMass Lowell will host the Dolphins tomorrow at 1:00 pm.
