ALBANY – The College of Saint Rose women's soccer team scored three times within a 14 minute span midway through the first half to put itself in the catbird seat en route to a 7-0 Northeast-10 Conference victory against visiting Pace University this afternoon at the Albany Academies. The Golden Knights (16-0/13-0 NE-10) also moved one step closer to clinching its fourth straight NE-10 regular-season title, maintaining their unblemished record with just two games remaining on their 2009 slate.

Christy-Lea Smith will all be suiting up for their final regular-season games within the next week.
As for the match, sophomore midfielder
Christina Cuffari provided the game-winner at the 20:45 mark. Cuffari dribbled across the top of the penalty box and blasted a shot into the upper right hand corner to get the Golden Knights off and running.
In all, a total of 12 different players found the scoring column to form a balanced attack. Of the seven tallies, not one player recorded multiple goals while six different players added at least one assist. Saint Rose also wound up with a 25-2 margin in shots and an 11-0 advantage in corner kicks.

Amanda Deck helped set up the game-winner and also fed sophomore forward Gianna D'Errico in the 57th minute to complete her days work. D'Errico and Deck are now tied for the team lead with five goals apiece.

Kristen Bidosky registered their second markers of the season and Duran put the finishing touches on her “Senior Day” by finding the back of the net for the second time in her career in the 66th minute.
Murphy played all 90 minutes between the posts for Saint Rose and stopped the only shot on goal she saw to earn the club's 12th shutout of the year. Meanwhile, freshman keeper Courtany Hagen turned aside 10 shots for Pace.
On Saturday, the Golden Knights will play their final home match of the regular season when 15th-ranked UMass Lowell arrives in Albany for a battle between the league's top-two clubs. Kickoff is set for 1:00 pm. The Setters also return to action Saturday when they head to Merrimack College for a 4:00 pm NE-10 affair.
