ALBANY – The College of Saint Rose women's volleyball team had its comeback bid fall short as Franklin Pierce University was a 15-12 winner in the deciding fifth set to hand the Golden Knights a 3-2 (16-25, 24-26, 25-15, 27-25, 12-15) Northeast-10 Conference setback this afternoon at the Daniel P. Nolan Gymnasium. It marked the second straight five-set loss for Saint Rose (11-7/5-4 NE-10) within the past 24-hours.
The Golden Knights had three players reach double-figures in kills led by sophomore outside hitter
Rachel Baxter who finished with 14 kills and hit .257. Junior right side hitter
Jaclyn Griffin added 11 kills and six blocks, while freshman outside hitter
Marilyn Glamack wound up with 11 kills, six digs and two blocks.

Mary German spearheaded the defensive unit with a match-high 22 digs. Meanwhile, freshman setter
Theresa Staulo put together a solid all-around match with 36 assists, nine kills and seven digs. She also hit .750 after not committing an attack error in 12 attempts.
The Ravens (12-14/5-4 NE-10) received 14 kills and 13 digs from junior outside hitter Katie Ristow. Additionally, senior right side hitter Emily Schultz registered nine kills and 13 digs, while senior setter Karissa Hookstadt dished out 37 assists and came up with 10 digs.
Saint Rose trailed 2-0 heading in to the third set, but jumped out to an 18-9 advantage to take a convincing 25-15 win. The fourth set saw the Golden Knights overcome a six point, 23-17, deficit by going on a 10-2 jaunt to close out a 27-25 triumph.
The deciding fifth set saw the Ravens break a 5-5 tie thanks to a Saint Rose attack error that made it 6-5 in favor of Franklin Pierce. Hookstadt then added a kill and the Ravens never trailed again en route to the 15-12 decision.
The Golden Knights will return to action Thursday when they head to Concordia for a non-conference match at 7:00 pm in Bronxville, NY. Franklin Pierce travels west tomorrow for a 12:00 pm NE-10 match at Le Moyne.
