ABOUT VOELKEL: Team captain…Versatile enough to play inside and out…Outstanding all-around athlete…Her length gives her a strong defensive presence…Should once again find herself in the starting rotation.

AS A JUNIOR: Lone player on the roster to start all 28 games…Averaged 6.6 points and 8.0 rebounds…Wound up fourth in the league in rebounds…Was also sixth in defensive rebounds (5.75) and 10th in blocks (1.14) and A:TO ratio (1.25)…Led the squad in rebounding 14 times throughout the year…Had three “double-doubles”…Hauled in a career-high 15 boards to go along with 11 points in a 57-41 win over Saint Michael’s (1/6/10)…Tossed in a career-best 16 points, pulled down 10 rebounds and dished out six assists in a 67-60 triumph at Merrimack (1/20/10)…Nearly pulled off a rare “triple-double” via nine points, eight rebounds and a career-high tying nine assists in a 78-67 victory at Pace (2/13/10)…Filled up the box score with 12 points, eight caroms and seven assists in a 64-59 win at New Haven (2/17/10)…Had another “double-double” behind 11 points and 10 rebounds in a 77-70 setback versus Merrimack (2/28/10) in the first round of the NE-10 Tournament…Named to both the Fall and Spring NE-10 Commissioner’s Honor Rolls in recognition of academic excellence.

AS A SOPHOMORE: Made seven starts while playing in all 31 games…Averaged 5.7 points and 5.9 rebounds…The latter was the team’s third-highest average…Reached double-figures in scoring on six occasions…Finished 11th in the NE-10 in offensive rebounds (2.35)…Tossed in a season-high 13 points on 4-of-6 shooting from the floor, including a 3-for-3 effort from beyond the arc in a 79-67 win at C.W. Post (12/20/08)…Pulled down a season-best 13 boards in an 80-63 win at Lincoln (11/16/08)…Registered her first career “double-double” with 11 points and 10 rebounds in a 57-51 win versus Le Moyne (2/10/09)…Had another “double-double” via 10 points and 11 rebounds in a 67-59 NE-10 semifinal victory at Stonehill (3/3/09)…Wound up with 11 points, eight rebounds and two assists in a 64-55 setback at Saint Michael’s (2/4/09)…Named to the NE-10 Commissioner’s Honor Roll in recognition of academic excellence.

AS A FRESHMAN: One of five players to appear in all 28 games…Also cracked the starting lineup three times…Averaged 4.4 points and 4.6 rebounds…The latter was the third highest total on the squad…Finished with 11 points and eight rebounds versus Stonehill (12/6/07)…Also tossed in 11 points and pulled down eight boards in an 85-71 win over Bryant (1/5/08)…Grabbed a season-high 14 rebounds in a 73-66 victory versus Franklin Pierce (1/26/08)…Also added nine points and four assists…Wound up with seven points, 11 caroms and a pair of assists at Saint Michael’s (2/2/08)…Named NE-10 Co-Freshman of the Week (1/7/08).

HIGH SCHOOL: Was a three-time state champion at Lakeland (twice in field hockey and once in basketball)…Also played in the NYS Final Four as a member of the lacrosse team…Garnered Player of the Year honors from the North County News…Also named Female Athlete of the Year by the same publication as a junior and senior…Four-time All-Conference pick in basketball, field hockey and lacrosse…Received All-America honors in lacrosse and was also recognized as an All-American for academics…Given the Superintendent’s Award for Athletics in recognition of high achieving students.

GENERAL: Dean’s List student…Has represented the Hudson Valley Region at the Empire State Games four times…Was part of two gold medal teams and also collected a pair of silver medals…Has been awarded numerous academic achievement awards, including The Wellesley College Book Award in recognition of outstanding academic achievement and leadership within the school and community…Recipient of the Richard E. Shields Memorial Mathematics Award as a senior as well as the Vincent & Theresa Giglio Memorial Scholarship Award for citizenship, sportsmanship and leadership…Best sports moment was winning the New York State title as a senior in high school.

Whether it’s slashing, shooting or rebounding Amy is versatile enough to play multiple positions, which poses a problem for opposing teams.”
