Brendan Gleason is entering his second year as an assistant coach at The College of Saint Rose where he helped lead the Golden Knights to a winning record during their inaugural campaign in 2012. He has also been a coach at numerous lacrosse camps and clinics including Top Dog Lacrosse, Siena College Lacrosse Camp, and 518 Lacrosse Club, throughout the past five years.
A four-year letterwinner at the University at Albany, Gleason will run the defensive end throughout the 2012-13 season and will also assist with recruiting, open clinics, and several other aspects of the program.
Gleason was a long stick midfielder and close defenseman at UAlbany where he played in 59 career games and was named to the 2010 America East All-Conference Team. Gleason helped lead the Great Danes to a pair of America East finals appearances and the 2007 conference championship when they advanced to the national quarterfinals of the NCAA Tournament.
Gleason graduated from UAlbany with a bachelor’s degree in sociology and a minor in business administration. He plans to continue his studies by pursuing a master’s in higher education.
Prior to attending UAlbany, Gleason was a four-year letterwinner at Shoreham - Wading River High School where he helped lead the team to four consecutive Suffolk County Championships from 2003-06 in addition to the 2003 Long Island Championship. His many successes as a player and a coach have prepared him well for his current role with the program.
