The 2017 season will be the second for Austin Gorman as an assistant with The College of Saint Rose men’s lacrosse program. The former Major League Lacrosse player brings the program experience from the professional, collegiate, modified, and youth levels.
Some of the many responsibilities Gorman has are to be the Golden Knights’ offensive coordinator, individual shooting, and man-up offense. Under his direction, in 2016 the team increased its scoring output; both while man-up and overall. In addition, two players combined to set single-season three program records. Matt Graham established new marks for scoring (50) and goals (34) and Connor Moore totaled 23 assists.
At the professional level, Gorman played the Rochester Rattlers in 2015 and 2016. While in college, he served as the Rattlers’ equipment manager from 2012-2014.
On the youth level, he gained coaching experience with the Aquinas Boys Modified lacrosse team in 2012, Storm Youth Lacrosse from 2010-2012 and at the Rochester Rattlers Youth Camp for three summers.
Gorman, who earned a bachelor’s degree in sociology from SUNY-Albany in 2015, played collegiate at the University of Hartford. He totaled 12 goals and eight assists on attack. Before playing with the Hawks, Gorman racked up 105 points, third-most in the nation at the National Junior College Athletic Association level, on 58 goals and 47 assists in one season for Monroe Community College.
