Biography

GENERAL: Part of four school record relay teams (200 and 400 medley relay, 200 and 800 free relays)…Also owns three individual school marks (100 and 200 butterflies, 200 IM)…Enjoys watching hockey and playing Wii…Works as a swim coach and a lifeguard in the summer…Said her sister, who is serving the USA in Iraq, has had a great deal of influence on her…Favorite movie is “Slapshot”…Listed Pittsburgh Penguins center Geno Malkin as the athlete she admires the most.

AS A JUNIOR: Swam in nine individual events, specializing in butterfly. Earned 19 top five finishes on the 2009-10 campaign with eight of them coming in either the 100 or 200 fly, including five first place performances…Swam the 200 fly in a season best 2:15.02 against Skidmore (1/24/10)…Had a her best time of the season in the 100 fly versus Le Moyne (11/21/09) when she hit the wall in 1:02.71…Won all three 100 fly events she entered on the season…Finished second to teammate Caitlin Brauer in the 400 IM at the Metropolitan Conference Championships (2/19-21/10) with a time of 4:35.04, taking two seconds on her previous season best time.

AS A SOPHOMORE: Named to the NE-10 Commissioner’s Honor Roll in recognition of academic excellence… Recorded nine first place finishes throughout the year…Bettered her own school mark in the 100 butterfly with a seventh place time of 59.75 at the Metropolitan Conference Championships (2/20/09)…Also produced a school record in the 200 butterfly as well as a national “B” cut standard with a 2:10.33 clocking to finish fourth at Metros…Registered her third school record of the meet on the strength of a 2:14.22 preliminary swim in the 200 IM…Anchored the 200 free relay quartet that established a school standard of 1:41.00…Also part of school record setting relay squads in the 800 free (8:07.40), 200 medley (1:52.05) and the 400 medley (4:03.44).

AS A FRESHMAN: Swam a season-best time of 1:00.83 in the 100 butterfly at Metros (2/23/08)…Swam the third leg on the 200 and 400 medley relay squads that turned in performances of 1:55.76 and 4:09.64 at Metros…Also found herself in the same position on the 400 and 800 free relay teams that hit the wall in 3:47.44 and 8:09.39…Registered a personal-best time of 2:30.21 in the 200 breaststroke.

HIGH SCHOOL: Five-year member of the varsity swimming team at Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake…Named team captain as a senior…Garnered Most Improved honors in 2003…Also honored with the “Spartan Spirit” award and received the “Extra Yard” award as a senior…Selected to the National Business Honor Society.
