College of Saint Rose Athletics

GENERAL: Expected to be a solid contributor to the Saint Rose squad in both the backstroke and freestyle events this season…Has a sister, Laura (’06), who competed on the Saint Rose women’s swimming and diving team…Works as a lifeguard during the summer months…Said his parents have influenced him the most throughout his lifetime…Comes out of the Schenectady Swim Club.

AS A JUNIOR: Had a strong season with nine first-place finishes on the year…Twice won a pair of events in a single meet…Won both the 50 and 100-yard freestyles with times of 22.75 and 49.78 respectively against Utica (11/6/10)…One week later at Skidmore (11/13/10) he also claimed dual wins, this time in the 50 free with a 22.69 clocking and in the 200 backstroke that he swam in 2:07.24…Was subsequently named the NE-10 Co-Athlete of the Week (11/16/10)…Saved his best time in three different events for the Northeast-10 Conference Championships (2/4-6/11)…Finished fourth in the 200 free with a time of 1:46.03 while taking sixth in the 50 free and third in the 200 back with respective 22.59 and 1:57.66 performances…Named to the NE-10 Commissioner’s Honor Roll for the fall semester in recognition of academic excellence…Was furthermore named to the NE-10 Academic All-Conference Team for the winter sports season in honor outstanding academic and athletic performance for the second consecutive year.

AS A SOPHOMORE: Named NE-10 Swimming Athlete of the Week (11/24/09)…Selected to the NE-10 Winter Academic All-Conference Team…Named to the NE-10 Commissioner’s Honor Roll for both the fall and spring semesters…Owned the 1,000 free during the 2009-10 season, winning all four times he dove into the pool, including a personal best of 10:18.32 against Le Moyne (11/21/09)…Pulled home first-place finishes in nine other events including twice in the 200 backstroke, 200 IM and 500 free as well as once each in the 100 and 200 freestyles, and the 100 fly…Led off both the 400 and 800 free relay at the NE-10 Championships as the Golden Knights recorded their highest event finishes of the meet, coming in with third place times of 3:15.16 and 7:11.07 respectively.

AS A FRESHMAN: Swam eight different events throughout the year…Recorded 12 first-place performances…Was third in the 200 back at the NE-10 Championships (12/5-7/08) with a time of 2:01.75…Also swam a sixth place time of 22.70 and a seventh place time of 56.13 in the 50 free and 100 back respectively at that meet…Finished 11th in the 200 back at the Metropolitan Conference Championships (2/20-22/08) with a season-best time of 1:57.96…Named to NE-10 weekly honor roll (2/2/09) after winning both the 500 and 1000 freestyles in respective times of 4:55.17 and 10:10.90 versus Bentley (1/31/09)…Named to NE-10 Commissioner’s Honor Roll.

HIGH SCHOOL: Five-time scholar-athlete award winner…Team captain as a junior and senior…Named Most Outstanding Competitor at the section II meet.
