ALBANY, N.Y.- The College of Saint Rose baseball team earned a 14-13 non-conference victory over the visiting Dominican Chargers on Thursday.
Golden Knight left fielder
Mike Benedetto drove in a career-high six RBI and scored two runs in the victory. Benedetto was a home run shy of the cycle, and also added a stolen base.
First baseman
Nathan Toms had a perfect day at the plate for Saint Rose, going 4-for-4 with three doubles and a walk. Toms scored four times and plated one RBI.
Third baseman
Jack Griffin and second baseman
Ethan Farina each hit two-run home runs for the Golden Knights in the win. Saint Rose right fielder
James Ward and designated hitter
Louis Gendron each had two hits on the day as well.
Chase Carroll earned the win for Saint Rose pitching a scoreless sixth inning.
Stephen Orlando closed things out in the ninth to earn his second save of the year.
Saint Rose returns to Northeast-10 conference action this weekend with a three-game series versus the Southwest Division-leading Pace Setters at Peter X. Finnerty Field in Pleasantville, N.Y. The teams will play a 12:00PM/3:00PM double header on Saturday before wrapping the series up with a single game on Sunday at 12:00PM.
