ALBANY, N.Y.- The College of Saint Rose baseball team fell in both contests of today's doubleheader versus Southern Connecticut State at Bob Bellizzi Field.
The visiting Owls took game one 14-8 before coming from behind to take game two 7-3.
Nathan Toms went 4-for-4 with three RBI to pace the Golden Knights in game one.
James Ward reached base four times as well in the opener with three hits and a walk. Ward had an RBI and a co-led the team with two runs.
Mike Benedetto drove in two runs, while
Vince Venditti and
Louis Gendron added one RBI each.
Kenyon Motley matched Ward with two runs.
Gendron finished 3-for-4, while
Jack Griffin was 1-for-3 with two RBI. Motley and
Josh Foglia posted one hit and scored a run each.
Griffin's two-run triple game the Golden Knights a 3-2 lead in the sixth inning, however SCSU score the final four runs of the contest to seal the sweep.
The Golden Knights will look to regroup with a Tuesday doubleheader against Assumption. First pitch is scheduled for 2:00 pm at Bellizzi Field.
