LINCOLN UNIVERSITY, Pa.- The College of Saint Rose softball team swept both games against Lincoln University in a Saturday doubleheader in Pennsylvania.
Ciana Phillips and
Marin Frazee each logged three hits to lead the Golden Knights to a 9-1 victory in the opener.
Alexandra Deeter drove in four runs in game one, with three of her RBI coming on third-inning home run out to center field.
Emma Schaub also plated a run for Saint Rose.
Phillips, Deeter,
Kelsey Higgins, and
Madison Chandler all accounted for two runs apiece.
Madi Puppolo earned the game one win with 7.0 innings of one-run ball. Puppolo struck out five while allowing only allowed four hits.
Maddy Bland went 3-for-4, while Phillips,
Ella Leduc, and
Marissa Correra tallied two-hits apiece to help Saint Rose secure the 9-2 victory in the finale.
Phillips went deep for a two-run shot in second inning, while Leduc matched Phillips with two runs batted in. Bland and
Alexcia Koonz each scored two runs, while Higgins and Correra each registered one RBI as well.
Deeter was awarded the win in the circle for game two after surrendering one hit in 3.0 innings of relief.
Looking forward, Saint Rose takes a week off before hosting Chestnut Hill in the team's home-opener on Sunday, March 24 at Haker Field.
