WILMINGTON, Del.- The College of Saint Rose softball team dropped both games of today's doubleheader at Goldey-Beacom. The Golden Knights fell 5-0 in game one before taking a 14-11 defeat in the day's second contest.
After the Golden Knights lineup was limited to just one hit in the opening game, the Saint Rose bats recovered to post 11 runs and 12 hits in the game-two slugfest.
Four different Golden Knights registered at least two RBI in the finale, with
Kelsey Higgins highlighting the group with a 2-for-3 effort that included a three-run home run in the top of the sixth.
Maddy Bland drove in two runs as part of a 3-for-3 effort, and
Ellen Fuda and
Ella Leduc each finished 2-for-5 with two RBI and a run scored.
Ciana Phillips tallied two hits and scored a team-high three runs as well.
Madison Chandler,
Nayana DeAmelia,
Abby Behrikis, and
Katelyn Baker also scored runs on the day.
Saint Rose will look to regroup tomorrow with a pair of games at Lincoln University, with first pitch of game one set for 12:00 pm with the Lions.
