ALBANY, N.Y.- The College of Saint women's lacrosse team fell 18-10 to Roberts Wesleyan in non-conference action this afternoon at Sullivan Field.
Junior midfield
Katy McPeak scored a team-best four goals for Saint Rose, while senior midfield
Daria Bock had three goals and one assist.Â
Sophomore attack Grace Gardener and sophomore midfield
Carly Neville were in the score sheet as well. Gardener scored twice while Neville added a solo strike.
Junior attack Lauren Pengdergast logged six assists to facilitate the Saint Rose offense.
Dorothy Gaffney turned away 10 shots in net for the Golden Knights.
After the two teams traded two scores each early in the first period, the Redhawks netted the next five goals to go ahead 7-2. Â Golden Knights would not go quietly into halftime however, as Saint Rose manufactured a run of five consecutive scores themselves to level the action at 7-7 at the break.
Despite the late first-half rally, the second-half momentum firmly belonged to Roberts Wesleyan, as the Redhawks scored eight unanswered to begin the third period to put things out of reach.
Looking forward, the Golden Knights next commence Northeast-10 Conference play at Southern Connecticut on Tuesday afternoon.
