SAINT ROSE GOES 2-2 ACROSS WEEKEND IN NORTH CAROLINA

CARY, N.C- The College of Saint Rose baseball team finished 2-2 on the team's weekend stretch at the USA Baseball Training Complex in Cary, North Carolina.

The Golden Knights began the weekend with a Friday non-conference tilt against Adelphi, where the Panthers took a 12-4 win. Saint Rose would bounce back to beat Saint Anselm in a 12-6 non-league game on Saturday morning. The Golden Knights capped the trip with a split in a Sunday doubleheader versus D'Youville.

James Ward led the Golden Knights lineup with a .444 average (4-for-9) and five RBI across the four games. Ward also drew five walks to tally a .625 on-base percentage. Ward's best play came in a 2-for-3 effort against Saint Anselm, where he drove in three runs.

Nathan Toms went 5-for-15 (.333) and knocked in four runs over four starts, including two hits in Sunday morning's 6-1 win over D'Youville.

Saint Rose received some production at the plate from their catchers throughout the weekend, including a 2-for-3 performance from AJ Fasolino against D'Youville and a 3-for-5 effort from Ryan Deo versus Saint Anselm. Both players also recorded one RBI each.

Vince Venditti, Louis Gendron, Jaden Fowler, and Jack Griffin were all credited with RBI, while Tyler Kneller struck out eight in 5.0 innings on the mound to help Saint Rose earn the win over Saint A's.

Looking ahead, the Golden Knights head north for the team's home-opener, which comes in the form of Saturday doubleheader with American International. First pitch of game one is scheduled for 12:00 pm at Bellizzi Field.
