ALBANY, N.Y.- The College of Saint Rose women's basketball team earned a 54-43 victory over Southern Connecticut State this afternoon in Daniel P. Nolan Gymnasium.
Three different players finished in double-figures for the Golden Knights, with sophomore guard
Kaelah Carter and junior forward
Maddisyn Mahoney leading the way with 13 points each.
Sophomore forward
Aniya McDonald-Perry topped the Golden Knights defensively with four steals in addition to logging a double-double effort of 11 points and 14 rebounds. Today marked the seventh time in the last nine contests that McDonald-Perry has pulled down 10 or more rebounds.
Saint Rose crushed Southern Connecticut State on the boards, as a 42-27 rebounding advantage created 18 second chance points for the Golden Knights.
The Golden Knights also generated 20 more points in the paint than the Owls, as SCSU was limited to only eight points inside the lane.
Sophomore guard
Payton Graber finished with eight points and eight rebounds, while junior guard
Catherine Finnerty tallied two steals.
The Golden Knights are back in action on Wednesday with a 5:30 pm matchup at Saint Michael's.
