SPRINGFIELD, Mass.- The College of Saint Rose men's basketball fell to the American International College Yellow Jackets 67-66 tonight in Northeast-10 Conference clash at the Henry A. Butova Gymnasium.
Saint Rose freshman forward
Christian Pierre-Louis would lead all scorers on the night with 18 points on 7-of-11 shooting from the floor. Pierre-Louis would also add three steals on the defensive end.Â
Junior forward
Nuha Sagnia grabbed a game high 10 rebounds to go along with 13 points for his first double-double as a Golden Knight. Saint Rose freshman guard
Trey Boyd III added 13 points off the bench as well.Â
The Golden Knights sported a 43-33 lead going into the break, however a Saint Rose cold stretch in the middle of the second half allowed AIC to recover. After a 22-11 sprint brought the Yellow Jackets back into the game, AIC would receive two free throws from Aguibou Balde with 58 seconds left that would prove to be the game-winning points.
Saint Rose had two chances trailing by a point in the final seconds, as junior guard
Tristian Jeffries missed on a corner three and freshman guard
Dante Weise had a follow-up jumper attempt miss following an offensive rebound.
The Golden Knights are back in action on Saturday at 3:30 pm when they take on NE10 foe Bentley at the Dana Center in Waltham, Mass.
