GOLDEN KNIGHTS OUTLAST ASSUMPTION IN TRIPLE OVERTIME THRILLER

WORCESTER, Mass.- The College of Saint Rose men's basketball team earned a 102-94 triple overtime victory this evening at Assumption. After freshman guard Trey Boyd III hit a buzzer-beating three-pointer to tie the game in the second overtime period, the Golden Knights outscored the Greyhounds 18-10 in the third OT frame to register the win.

Boyd III finished with 25 points, five rebounds, and four steals, while junior guard Tristian Jeffries tallied a season-high 29 points, six rebounds, and three swipes for the Golden Knights. The backcourt duo would also team up to go 20-for-20 at the free-throw line in the triumph.

Junior forward Nuha Sagnia and freshman guard Christian Pierre-Louis each logged a double-double for Saint Rose. Sagnia recorded 15 points and 11 boards and Pierre-Louis registered 10 points and 11 rebounds. Ata Turgut also tallied 15 points in the winning-effort.

The Golden Knights trailed 70-64 with 1:57 remaining in the second half when Jeffries and Turgut combined to score the final six points of regulation to send things to overtime.

After the first overtime featured multiple opportunities for the Greyhounds at the buzzer, the action pushed to a second OT where Boyd III would net his game-tying long ball to level the score once again at 84-84.

Jeffries pushed the Golden Knights across the finish line with 11 of his 29 points in the final five-minute overtime.

Kasey Draper scored 20 points to lead a group of five Greyhounds in double-figures.

Both teams are back in action with Northeast-10 Conference meetings on Saturday. The Golden Knights host Pace at 4:00 pm for Hoops 4 Hope Day in Daniel P. Nolan Gymnasium, while Assumption travels to face Southern Connecticut State.
