ALBANY, N.Y.- The College of Saint Rose men's basketball dropped a 75-71 Northeast-10 Conference matchup to Saint Anselm this evening in Daniel P. Nolan Gymnasium. The Hawks hit on 16-of-28 (57.1 percent) of their field goal attempts in the second half to break away and earn the league win.

Tristian Jeffries, while the trio of junior forward
Ata Turgut and freshman
Trey Boyd III and
Jabari Phillip Jr. posted 14 points apiece in the close loss. Turgut pulled down a game-high 11 rebounds, while Jeffries, Phillip Jr., and forward
Nuha Sagnia grabbed seven boards each.
The Hawks took control early, as they led by as much as eight in the first half. Trailing 27-19, the Golden Knights closed on a 13-5 run to finish the first half tied at 32-all. Jeffries keyed the late rally with seven points for Saint Rose across the final 1:46 of the half.
Saint Anselm sprinted ahead again after the intermission, as 13 of the first 17 points in the second half belonged to the Hawks. Down nine, the Golden Knights would punch back with a 14-5 run to bring everything even again at 50-50 with 10 minutes left.
The lead would be exchanged eight times down the stretch before a three-pointer from Hawks guard Josh Morissette gave Saint Anselm the lead for good with 1:55 remaining. Morrissete led all players with 25 points on 9-of-12 shooting in the victory.
Looking forward, Saint Rose travels to Adelphi for a 3:30 pm NE10 meeting on Saturday. Saint Anselm is on the road as well on Saturday at New Haven.
