NEW HAVEN, Conn.- The College of Saint Rose men's soccer team opened up its Northeast-10 Conference schedule today at Southern Connecticut State University, with the Golden Knights falling 1-0 to the Owls.
The game was scoreless for just under 40 minutes until SCSU defender Jacob Rose's one timer from outside of the eighteen yard box found the far top right corner to give the Owls a 1-0 lead.Â
Saint Rose freshman goalie
Leopold Dufaut made a big save on an SCSU free kick as the clock expired in the half to keep the score at 1-0 going into the break.Â
The Golden Knights would put pressure on SCSU over the final 45 minutes, out shooting the Owls 8-1 and earning 8 corners, but were unable to break through on goalie Devin Juan and the Southern defense.Â
Saint Rose also saw two late attempts be denied by the crossbar.Â
Next up, the Golden Knights return home to Sullivan Field to host Gannon in a 1:00 pm non-conference matchup on Monday.
