ALBANY, N.Y.- The College of Saint Rose men's soccer team fell 1-0 to Gannon this afternoon at Sullivan Field.
Gannon, who was ranked #9 in the most recent United Soccer Coaches Association national poll, received an early goal from midfielder James Pool to remain undefeated this season.
Pool was able to dribble past several Golden Knights before toe-poking a shot into the back of the net with 4:56 elapsed in the first half.
Saint Rose was limited to just one shot on the goal throughout the 90 minutes. Despite the shot disparity, the Golden Knights had a good look at a potential equalizer in the final minute, however an attempt at the top of the Gannon box by graduate defender
Lukas Englich missed wide left.
Moving forward, Saint Rose will look to regroup before facing its second top-10 ranked opponent of the week as the defending NCAA Division II National Champions and #1 team in the country, Franklin Pierce, will be in Albany on Saturday for a 3:30 pm Northeast-10 matchup.
