SYRACUSE, N.Y.- The College of Saint Rose men's lacrosse played a close first half at #1 Le Moyne this afternoon, however the nation's top-ranked Dolphins scored five of the six goals in the third period to pull away from their 10-6 halftime lead.
Freshman midfield
Jack Rice tallied five points to propel the Golden Knights attack. Rice found the back of the net two times, in addition to providing a team-high three assists.
Senior midfielder
Gabriel Nish, senior attack
Cam Smith, and freshman midfielder
Noah Gibson also recorded multiple points in the setback. Nish and Smith finished with two scores apiece, while Gibson had a goal and an assist. Junior long-pole midfielder
Dan Fuller and
Eddie Baker netted solo goals as well.
Nish scored twice, while Smith and Baker tallied a strike each to help Saint Rose hang close in the 6-4 opening period.Â
Le Moyne outscored the Golden Knights 9-3 between the second and third frames to build a second-half advantage that reach as many as nine goals.
Sophomore attack Isaac Frechette scored a game-high five goals, while junior attack Joey Pezzimenti led all players with five assists. The Dolphins registered a 54-26 shot advantage on the afternoon to remain undefeated this spring.
Both squads will move forward with home Northeast-10 Conference matchups on Saturday. Saint Rose welcomes #14 Pace to Sullivan Field at 3:00 pm, while Le Moyne hosts Franklin Pierce at 12:00 pm.
