ALBANY, N.Y.- The College of Saint Rose women's lacrosse team dropped a 17-7 Northeast-10 Conference matchup to Le Moyne this afternoon at Sullivan Field, with the #7 nationally ranked Dolphins netting seven of the nine goals scored in the second half to earn their seventh consecutive victory.
Juniors midfielder
Deanna Ciliento and
Daria Bock each scored twice for the Golden Knights. Freshman midfielder
Eliza Barton, sophomore attack
Lauren Pendergast, and senior midfielder Ashely Burns tallied goals as well.
Trailing 5-1 early in the first half, the Golden Knights registered four straight scores to level the action at 5-5. The Saint Rose rally was immediately answered by the Dolphins, who owned the next six goals to pull away in the early stages of the third period.
Graduate student attack Jessica Meneilly found the back of the net five times to top all scorers. The attack duo of Sarah Hutchings and Sara Goodwin added four goals as well to the Le Moyne attack.
The Golden Knights will look to bounce back in Saturday's Senior Day contest at 11:00 am against Southern Connecticut State. Le Moyne returns on Saturday as well at #18 Bentley.
