WORCESTER, Mass.- The College of Saint Rose women's lacrosse team was defeated 16-11 today at #20 Assumption. After the Golden Knights led 9-7 at halftime, the nationally ranked Greyhounds outscored Saint Rose 9-2 in the final two periods to earn the Northeast-10 Conference victory.

Lauren Pendergast scored three goals to top the Golden Knights attack. Freshman attack

Deanna Ciliento tallied two scores apiece, while freshman midfield
Eliza Barton and senior midfield
Ashley Burns each added solo goals.
Following a first period-rally that put Assumption up 5-3 early, the Golden Knights responded with six of the final eight goals in the first half to take a two-goal advantage in the break. Â The two squads traded scores to begin the third period to keep the Saint Rose lead at 10-8, however, Saint Rose would only manage to net one more goal from that point on.
Senior attack Jenna Joseph provided Assumption 12 points in the win, as the NE-10 points leader scored eight goals and distributed four assists. Junior midfield Isabelle Edwards scored four times as well for the Greyhounds.
Looking forward, the Golden Knights will return home to welcome #7 Le Moyne to Sullivan Field at 4:00 pm on Tuesday. Assumption is back in action at home on Wednesday night versus #22 New Haven.
