PENDERGAST BREAKS SAINT ROSE SINGLE-GAME SCORING RECORD WITH SEVEN GOALS AT #25 SOUTHERN NEW HAMPSHIRE

MANCHESTER, N.H.- The College of Saint Rose women's lacrosse team received a program single-game record seven goals from sophomore attack Lauren Pendergast in today's Northeast-10 Conference contest at #25 Southern New Hampshire, however, the Golden Knights could not overcome a hot start by the Penmen as SNHU claimed the 20-15 win.

Southern New Hampshire scored the first eight goals of the contest to take control of the action early. After a mini-spurt by the Golden Knights cut the deficit to three, the Penmen would receive three goals from senior attack Angelina Graziano in the final three minutes of the first half to go into the break leading 12-6.

Pendergast netted a goal just over a minute into the second half to start a 5-1 Saint Rose scoring stretch to begin the third quarter. After the rally brought Saint Rose to within two, Southern New Hampshire would answer with five of the next six scores to extend the margin to 16-11 in the early moments of the fourth frame.

Three more strikes from Pendergast paired with a goal by freshman midfield Eliza Barton kept Saint Rose within range throughout the final quarter, however, the Penmen attack would consistently find the back of the net to keep the advantage intact to the end.

Junior midfield Daria Bock finished with three goals, two assists, four ground balls, and 14 draw controls. Sophomore midfield Katy McPeak matched Bock with three scores while causing two turnovers. Barton totaled three points on two goals and an assist.

Graziano netted a team-best six goals, while senior midfield Shelby Cole and junior midfield Shelby Cole scored five times each.

The Golden Knights will look to bounce back on the road against #20 New Haven on Saturday, with a 4:00 pm start time set between Saint Rose and the Chargers. Southern New Hampshire will next face Franklin Pierce on Friday afternoon in Rindge, N.H.
