#6 PACE PULLS AWAY FROM GOLDEN KNIGHTS IN FOURTH QUARTER

ALBANY, N.Y.- The College of Saint Rose women's lacrosse team hung close to #6 nationally ranked Pace University in this afternoon's Northeast-10 Conference contest before the visiting Setters secured the 20-16 victory at Sullivan Field.

Senior midfield Ashley Burns registered six goals on the day for Saint Rose, which marked a career-high for the veteran while also matching the Golden Knights women's program single-game record.

Junior midfield Daria Bock and freshman attack Alex Tapia tallied multi-goal efforts as well, as Bock finished with three scores and Tapia found the back of the net twice.

After the first quarter ended with Pace leading 5-4, the Setters would score five goals in the first four minutes of the next quarter to extend their advantage to six. The Golden Knights, however, claimed five of the final seven scores of the half, including three from Burns, to limit the margin to 12-9 after two frames.

Scores from Bock, Tapia, junior midfield Deanna Ciliento, and sophomore attack Lauren Pendergast helped the Golden Knights edge closer in the third quarter, as Saint Rose outscored the Setters 4-2 in the stanza to move the deficit to just one goal heading into the fourth.

Pace would come out on fire to begin the final quarter, as the Setters netted four strikes in the first two minutes of the fourth to re-establish control for good. Graduate midfields Aleya Corretjer and Emma Rafferty recorded five and six goals, respectively, as Pace improved to 4-1 on the season.

Looking forward, the Golden Knights will look to bounce back with a Tuesday afternoon matchup at Southern New Hampshire. The Setters are back in action on Tuesday as well with a 4:00 pm meeting at Southern Connecticut State.
