SAINT ROSE SCORES 10 IN THE FIRST QUARTER EN ROUTE TO WIN OVER POST

Albany, NY- The College of Saint Rose women's lacrosse team defeated the Post University Eagles 16-4 at Sullivan Field Friday to move to 4-1 on the season.
 
The Golden Knights exploded for 10 first quarter goals, opening up a 10-0 lead which would remain at double digits for the remainder of the game. 

Junior middie Daria Bock opened the scoring for Saint Rose just over two minutes into the contest on an unassisted take to the net. Bock would finish with a game high 4 goals on the day.
 
Saint Rose junior midfielder Deanna Ciliento registered a first quarter hat trick, with her first two goals coming off of feeds from freshman defender Madeline Rounds and senior middie Ashley Burns. 

Sophomore attack Lauren Pendergast, junior attack Claudia Agostino, freshman attacker Alex Tapia and sophomore attack Katy McPeak all also found the back of the net to get in on the first quarter action. Agsotino would tally a second goal later in the game.

Junior goalie Dorothy Gaffney posted the opening frame shutout for the Golden Knights before being subbed out to start the second. 

Saint Rose freshman middie Emily Robbie would start the scoring in the second quarter on a feed from junior attack Kaitlyn Jolly. Robbie finished with 2 goals while Jolly registered a game high 3 apples. Freshman midfielder Grace Gardner would extend the Golden Knights lead to 12-0 with an unassisted goal. 

The Golden Knights would go into halftime with a 13-1 lead. 

Bock scored two 3rd quarter goals to give Saint Rose their biggest lead of the game at 15-1.
 
Golden Knight sophomore defender Madeleine Jerome netted a 4th quarter goal on a pass from freshman attack Sophia Moret. Moret tallied 2 assists on the day. 

Junior goalies Madeline Young and Nicole Frese, along with freshman Grace Fritzsche would each play a quarter in net for the Golden Knights. 

Saint Rose will have a week off before opening up conference play at Sullivan Field on Saturday, March 18th at 1:00PM when they'll host NE10 foe Pace University.
