MANSFIELD, Mass.- The College of Saint Rose swimming & diving teams wrapped competition today at the 2023 Northeast-10 Conference Championships, with Assumption serving as host of the four-day event that was held at Worcester Polytechnic Institute.
Sophomores
James Henriques and
Aldemar Alikavazovic highlighted the weekend for the Golden Knights, with the pair earning two individual podium finishes apiece.
Henriques began the championships with a third-place result in the 50-meter freestyle on Friday night (20.94 seconds), followed by runner-up performance in the 100m free with a time of 46.41 seconds on Sunday. Henriques also took fourth in Saturday's 100m butterfly in 51.35.
Alikavazovic claimed third place in both the 100m and 200m breaststrokes with respective marks of 56.98 and 2:08.41. He also touched fourth, one spot behind Henriques, in the 50m free (21.16).
Sophomore
Nathan Greene registered key points as well for Saint Rose with a fourth-place performance in the 400m individual medley (4:14.74) and 10th-place finish in the 500 free (4:55.23).
On the women's side, sophomore
Mia Stroub finished eighth in the 100 butterfly in 59.99. Stroub also placed 12th in the 200 IM (2:16.47) and 200 backstroke (2:14.65).
Sophomore
Gabbie Lupe was also recognized as the NE10 Elite 24 Award winner, an esteemed honor presented to the student-athlete with the highest grade-point-average in the conference championships.
Overall, the Golden Knights men placed seventh, while the women finished eighth in the respective team standings.
