ALBANY, N.Y.- The College of Saint Rose men's basketball team was defeated 77-67 by Staten Island in a non-conference matchup tonight in Daniel P. Nolan Gymnasium.

Ata Turgut finished with a 14-point, 11-rebound double-double to pace Saint Rose in the setback. Junior forward
Nuha Sagnia also provided the Golden Knights with 15 points and nine boards.
Freshman guard
Christian Pierre-Louis logged 12 points and six rebounds, while freshman guard
Trey Boyd III added 10 points.
After a four-point margin separated the two teams at the break, Staten Island knocked down seven three-pointers to outscore the Golden Knights by 14 in the second half. Saint Rose lead 65-61 with five minutes remaining after the teams traded the lead 11 times, however the Dolphins owned 16 of the final 18 points to seal the win.
Dolphins forward Messiah Mallory netted 21 points, including 13 in the second half, to lead all players.
Looking ahead, the Golden Knights will return to Northeast-10 Conference play with a Wednesday night matchup at American International. Tipoff is set for 7:30 pm in Springfield, Mass.
