Springfield, Mass.- The College of Saint Rose men's soccer team came back from two goals down to earn a miraculous 3-2 comeback win at American International College. The Golden Knights would score three unanswered goals in the matches final 20 minutes to defeat the Yellow Jackets and earn a Northeast-10 road win.Â
After Yellow Jacket forward Ali Taleb scored the game's first two goals to gave the Yellow Jackets a 2-0 lead in the first half,
Jose Clemente found the back of the net off a pass from fellow graduate forward
Nico Faretta to get the Golden Knights on the board and the comeback would be on.Â
Trailing by one, Saint Rose leading goal scorer Hilmar Haldorsson would bury a penalty kick in the 82nd minute to tie the game up at 2-2.Â
Saint Rose senior back
August Jorius would cap off the Golden Knights comeback with his first goal of the season in the 85th minute, beating AIC keeper Lucas Morales-Fernandez to a pass from Clemente in the box to touch in the winner.Â
The win moves Saint Rose to 3-4-3 on the season and 2-2-1 in conference play. The Golden Knights will look to carry the momentum back home when they host Daeman on Wednesday at Sullivan Field. Kick off is set for 4:00pm.
