Rochester, N.Y.- The College of Saint Rose women's volleyball team took on Roberts Wesleyan in a non-conference match tonight in the Voller Athletic Center. The Golden Knights would win the opening set, however the Redhawks would take the next three frames to earn the 3-1 win.Â
Saint Rose took the first set 25-19 using 12 kills, three services aces and a .250 hitting percentage to get out to the 1-0 advantage. After the Redhawks were limited to just seven kills in set number one, the hosts landed 47 kills across the final three stanzas to secure the victory.
Junior middle blocker
Julia Cavalcanti and sophomore middle blocker Theresa Moudler led the Golden Knights with 12 kills each in the match. Senior middle blocker
Karleigh Fripp finished with nine kills and five blocks, while junior libero
Madelyn Avery tallied a season-high 21 digs.
The Golden Knights are back on the court on Saturday at 4:00 pm as they stay out west to take on Daemen in for the second of back-to-back non-conference contests this weekend.
