FOUR GOLDEN KNIGHTS LAND IN DOUBLE-FIGURES AGAINST LE MOYNE

ALBANY, N.Y.- The College of Saint Rose men's basketball team dropped a Northeast-10 Conference clash versus upstate foe Le Moyne 74-71 at the Daniel P. Nolan Gymnasium today. The Golden Knights took a five point lead into the half, but 21 second half points from guard Isaiah Salter would propel the Dolphins to late victory.

Junior forward Josh McGettigan led Saint Rose in scoring for the second straight contest, pouring in 25 points on 9-of-12 shooting. McGettigan also recorded a game-high six rebounds.

Le Moyne and Saint Rose traded scoring runs of seven and nine consecutive, respectively, to begin the game, providing a fitting introduction to what would be a fast-paced first half. The Dolphins took a nine point lead midway through the half, but Saint Rose would erase that with another long scoring run. The teams would go into the break with Saint Rose leading 32-27.

The Golden Knights advantage would stretch to a 10 points in the middle stages of the second half, however Le Moyne used back-to-back three-pointers by Salter to bring the Dolphins to within three, before eventually took their first lead of the second half with just under three minutes remaining.

Another three by forward Xavier Wilson would extend the Dolphins margin to 74-69, but a pair of free throws by McGettigan and a turnover by Le Moyne gave the Golden Knights a chance down one possesion with 24 seconds remaining. Trailing three, the final possesion for Saint Rose concluded with freshman forward Max Jusianiec coming up empty on a three-point attempt at the buzzer.

Jusianiec finished with 16 points to go along with a career-high five blocks. Senior guard Frankie Phelan and freshman guard Lateik Briscoe both tallied 10 points each for Saint Rose, with Phelan adding four assists and three steals.

Salter led all scorers with 27 points, while Wilson totaled 17 for the Dolphins. The backcourt duo combined to shoot 16-of-25 from the floor to led Le Moyne to the win.

The Golden Knights will be back in action on Wednesday at 7:30 pm when they travel to West Haven, CT to take on the New Haven. Le Moyne next hosts Adelphi on Wednesday night.
