WORCESTER, Mass.- The College of Saint Rose and Assumption met for an Northeast-10 Conference tilt this afternoon, with the host Greyhounds jumping ahead early on the way to a 66-48 victory.Â
Senior forward Makaela Johnson extended her double-digit scoring streak to eight straight games with a 15-point effort in the defeat. Johnson also led the Golden Knights with 6 rebounds.Â
Sophomore forward Kaileigh Hunt added 14 points and 4 rebounds as well for Saint Rose.
Assumption took the early lead and never looked back after scoring the first eight points of the contest. The Greyhounds led 32-21 after limiting Saint Rose to 7-for-26 (26.9 percent) from the field throughout the first two quarters.
The Greyhound advantage reached 22 points in the second half as Assumption cruised to its fourth consecutive victory.Â
Guard Molly Stokes was good on 5-of-9 attempts from three to finish with a game-high 17 points.Â
Looking forward, both squads are back in action with NE10 meetings on Tuesday at 5:30 pm. Saint Rose is home against Saint Michael's while Assumption heads to Franklin Pierce.Â
