#2 SAINT ROSE STRIKES TWICE EARLY IN THE SECOND HALF AND POSTS ITS SECOND STRAIGHT CLEAN SHEET TODAY AT CALDWELL

CALDWELL, N.J. – Senior forward Kaelyn Britt scored twice less than two minutes apart in the early stages of the second half and The College of Saint Rose posted its second consecutive clean sheet with today's 4-0 victory at Caldwell University.

Sophomore forward Mia Klammer, who was named the Northeast-10 Conference Player of the Week earlier this afternoon, accounted for what proved to be the game-winner and freshman forward Madelyn Wania scored her first collegiate goal for the still undefeated Golden Knights (4-0).

Meanwhile, three goalkeepers in freshmen Pia Bozic and Peyton DeRouen, and senior Taylor Gray helped direct the Saint Rose defense while recording six saves collectively. Senior Erin Emery came up with six stops as well for the Cougars (1-2-1).

The Golden Knights generated a 16-11 shot advantage, while each side developed three corner kicks.

Klammer put Saint Rose in front with less than four minutes left until intermission when she got to a loose ball in the area off a corner kick.

Britt drove a shot from the top of the box five minutes into the second half and then created space for herself inside the "18" to make it 3-0 Golden Knights 79 seconds later.

Wania closed it out off a free kick with less than five minutes to play.

Looking ahead, Saint Rose returns home Saturday to open NE10 action with a 2:00 pm date with Franklin Pierce, which was picked third in the NE10 Preseason Coaches' Poll. Meanwhile, Caldwell gets back on its home pitch Wednesday for a 3:00 pm meeting with American International.
Notes: The Golden Knights have outscored their four opponents 11-3 on the year…Saint Rose is ranked #2 in the United Soccer Coaches Preseason National Poll…Seven different players have at least one goal thus far…Britt is tied with Franklin Pierce freshman forward Mollie Cahalane for the NE10 goal scoring lead with three strikes…Bozic is fifth among the conference leaders behind an .867 save percentage…Saint Rose has opened up 4-0 for the second straight year.
