BARTLETT TOUCHES HOME GAME WINNER WITH TWO SECONDS LEFT TO PROEPL UNBEATEN #11 GOLDEN KNIGHTS PAST LE MOYNE

ALBANY, N.Y. – Junior midfielder Jen Bartlett touched home a deflected ball in the area with a mere two seconds remaining to allow The College of Saint Rose to remain unbeaten at home with tonight's 2-1 win against visiting Northeast-10 Conference rival Le Moyne.

The Golden Knights (6-0-2/2-0-2 NE10), ranked #11 in this week's United Soccer Coaches National Poll, dominated the pace of play for the majority of the evening and controlled possession for 57.0 percent of the contest, but appeared destined for their third consecutive draw.

Saint Rose manufactured a 22-6 shot advantage, including a 10-1 differential in shots on goal, and developed six corners, while surrendering four.

The Golden Knights authority paid off with only 12:41 gone by when senior midfielder Janina Mueller opened the scoring. Mueller collected a ball near midfield, deked a defender, and made a nice run up the left flank before cutting to the area and driving a low shot inside the left post to make it 1-0 Saint Rose.

It stood that way at intermission before the Dolphins (2-4-1/0-4-0 NE10) made it interesting by taking advantage of a miscue in the defensive end with freshman keeper Pia Bozic off the line. Le Moyne freshman midfielder Payton Khadra got to a loose ball and delivered a feed to fellow freshman midfielder Hermine Hognerud who deposited a shot from about 30-yards out into an empty Saint Rose net.

The Golden Knights responded by outshooting Le Moyne 6-0 from that point forward, but could not find the equalizer until Bartlett's shot in the waning moments. Senior forward Kaelyn Britt had the best chance with three minutes left when her volley from the six-yard box sailed just over the goal.

Meanwhile, the Dolphins nearly struck midway through the first half when Khadra lofted a shot from far out on the right flank that at first glance appeared harmless, but dipped before deflecting off the crossbar.

Looking ahead, both sides have conference road matches Saturday. The Golden Knights travel to Waltham, Mass. to face a Bentley side that is unbeaten in its last four outings, while the Dolphins head to Colchester, Vt. to take on Saint Michael's.
Notes: The Golden Knights entered tonight tied for 19th in the country with an overall 0.857 winning percentage…They are unbeaten through eight matches for the second straight year…Saint Rose has outscored its eight opponents 16-5, including 10-2 in the first half, and 10 different players have found the back of the net…The Golden Knights stand third in the NE10 with a 0.57 team goals-against-average…Britt is tied for second in the league with four goals…Sophomore forward Mia Klammer is tied for third with three assists, while Bozic is second with a 0.56 GAA and stands third behind a .846 save percentage.
