LAKEWOOD, N.J.- The College of Saint Rose roared back from a 2-1 deficit to open the Georgian Court Invitational with a victory over the host Lions this afternoon.
After winning the opening frame, the Golden Knights fell in the second and third sets as Georgian Court built a 2-1 match advantage.
The Lions led 20-15 in the fourth set and were on the verge of closing out the match before Saint Rose won six consecutive points to bring the action back even. The two teams would go on to trade set-point opportunities before the Golden Knights claimed the frame to extend things to a fifth set.
Saint Rose would take the deciding final set after winning 10 of the first 15 points in the stanza.
Looking ahead, the Golden Knights continues on at the Georgian Court Invitational tomorrow with a 10:00 am contest versus Queens College followed by a 2:00 pm meeting with Shepherd.
