#2 GOLDEN KNIGHTS PLAY TO A SCORELESS DRAW AT NE10 RIVAL SOUTHERN CONNECTICUT STATE

NEW HAVEN, Conn. – The College of Saint Rose dominated play only to settle for a scoreless draw at Southern Connecticut State in a match that featured two of the four remaining unbeaten Northeast-10 Conference squads in league play.

The Golden Knights (5-0-2/1-0-2 NE10), who are ranked #2 in the most recent United Soccer Coaches National Poll, and Owls (4-2-1/2-0-1 NE10) have now recorded nine shutouts collectively this season. In addition, Southern Connecticut State has not surrendered a goal in its last four matches while Saint Rose has allowed only one throughout its last five contests.

As for this evening, the Golden Knights stepped up the pressure throughout the final 6:30 when they generated four shots-on-target that were all handled by graduate student goalkeeper Abby Allen. In addition, freshman midfielder Emilie Kristensen rattled a shot off the left post in the opening eight minutes of the second half.

Sophomore forward Mia Klammer accounted for three and junior back Sanna Rein delivered two of the nine Saint Rose shots-at-frame. Freshman keeper Pia Bozic recorded three saves, the sixth time this season she has made at least that many stops.

Overall, Saint Rose manufactured a 16-7 shot advantage and generated nine corners, all in the second period, while surrendering just four.

Going forward, both sides have home NE10 matches Wednesday. The Golden Knights host Le Moyne at 6:00 pm, while the Owls face Adelphi at 7:00 pm.
