NEW CASTLE, Del.- The College of Saint Rose wrapped the weekend at the Wilmington Wildcat Invitational with today's three-set losses to Holy Family and the host Wildcats.
Sophomore outside hitter Juliana Venduro led the Golden Knights with seven kills in the opener against the Tigers (2-8), while sophomore middle blocker Karleigh Fripp and junior outside hitter Jessica Vargas added six and five kills, respectively.
Fripp and Vargas tallied eight kills apiece to top Saint Rose (5-6) in the setback to Wilmington (2-10). Junior setter Valeria Jorge recorded 25 assists and 12 digs.
Looking ahead, Saint Rose returns home to Nolan Gymnasium to host an afternoon tri-meet with Roberts Wesleyan and Frostburg State next Saturday.

Julia Cavalcanti was named the Northeast-10 Conference Player of the Week and Jorge was recognized on the NE10 weekly honor roll for the period ending Sunday, September 4… Jorge ranks third among the setters in the NE10 with an average of 8.55 assists per set and also lists sixth in the league with 109 digs...Vargas (82 kills) and Cavalcanti (74 kills) respectively rank seventh and ninth in the conference in kills…Cavalcanti is also first in the NE10 with 20 aces.
