GOLDEN KNIGHTS OVERCOME BY SAINT ANSELM IN AFTERNOON DOUBLEHEADER

ALBANY, N.Y.- The College of Saint Rose dropped a Northeast-10 Conference doubleheader this afternoon to visiting Saint Anselm. The Hawks earned both victories by a 4-2 margin to run their winning streak to six consecutive victories.

Sophomore center fielder Ciana Phillips was a hard out in the Golden Knight lineup all afternoon, finishing a combined 4-for-7 with a walk across the two games.

The Golden Knights received RBI singles from sophomore first baseman Madison Chandler and freshman second basemen Abby Behrikis in the game-one setback.

Saint Anselm (13-10/6-2 NE10) sophomore Haile Hicks struck out 11 in the opener to improve her record to 11-2 in the circle.

In the day's second game, the Hawks plated three unearned runs in the fifth to flip a 2-1 deficit into a 4-2 advantage.

Saint Rose had staked the 2-1 lead in the early innings, manufacturing a run in the bottom of the first, followed by a run-scoring single by freshman right fielder Camryn O'Hara in the second.

Making her first start of the spring for the Golden Knights, O'Hara tallied two hits in three trips to the plate. Sophomore second basemen Alexandra Deeter added a pair of extra base hits to the Saint Rose offense in game-two as well.

Freshman pitcher Hannah Breen post another strong start in the circle for the Golden Knights (7-18/3-5 NE10), allowing only six baserunners in the finale.

Up next, the Golden Knights travel to New Haven for a doubleheader on Saturday in New Haven, Conn. Saint Anselm returns to action at home against Bentley on Wednesday afternoon.
Notes: Breen has surrendered only eight earned runs in her last 31.0 innings pitched (2.32 ERA)...Chandler leads the Golden Knights in batting average (.338), OPS (.853), and RBI (18)...Phillips reaches base at a .379 clip and is perfect in all five of her steal attempts.
