ORANGEBURG, N.Y.- The College of Saint Rose dropped a pair of non-conference contests at Dominican today, with the host Chargers taking the afternoon doubleheader by margins of 8-7 and 15-7.
The Golden Knights struck first in the opener when sophomore designated player
Alysa Houghtaling's single scored sophomore first basemen
Madison Chandler in the top of the first. However, Dominican immediately responded with four runs in the bottom half of the frame to take a 4-1 lead.

Sophia Schaub and Houghtaling to give the Golden Knights two more runs. The Chargers got a score back in their next half of the inning to push the margin to 5-3 going into the fourth.
Saint Rose claimed its first advantage of the afternoon at 6-5 after freshman catcher
Ellen Fuda scored on a groundout by third baseman
Abby Behrikis in the fourth inning, and sophomore second baseman
Colette Cohen laced a two-run home run to left field in the fifth.
The margin held until the bottom of the sixth when the Chargers tallied three runs on long balls from junior center fielder Kristin Miscia and sophomore designated played Kamryn Raya to go ahead 8-6.
Cohen singled home Chandler in the top of the seventh to cut the deficit to 8-7, however, Fuda struck out with the bases loaded to end the last-inning comeback attempt.
In game two, Dominican (17-21) tallied five runs in the second, followed by a six-run sixth inning to maintain control throughout the finale.
Fuda registered a three-run home run for Saint Rose (12-29), while Chandler, Cohen, freshman left fielder
Camryn O'Hara, and sophomore
Julia Rupinski all added RBI for the Golden Knights in the second match-up. Fuda led the Saint Rose offense on the day, finishing 4-for-7 with three RBI, and two runs scored across the pair of games.
Moving forward, the Golden Knights return home to Cathy Haker Field at the Plumeri Sports Complex to host Pace for a Friday afternoon doubleheader. Dominican has a twin-bill on tap tomorrow at Saint Thomas Aquinas.
