SPRINGFIELD, Mass.- The College of Saint Rose sustained a late rally by host American International to hold on for the 7-6 Northeast-10 Conference victory.
"We were able to finish strong in tonight's close game," said Head Coach
Sarah Martin. "We made key defensive plays when we needed them. (Sophomore goalie)
Dorothy Gaffney came up huge in the cage for us tonight with a double-digit save performance."
Trailing 2-0 early, Saint Rose closed the second period with four straight goals to own a 4-2 advantage at the halftime.

Eileen Rattigan helped Saint Rose own three of the first four goals of the third period to extend the margin to 7-3.
The Yellow Jackets did not go away quietly, scoring three consecutive scores to cut the deficit to 7-6 in the middle stages of the fourth.
Saint Rose withstood a final-minute flurry by causing two turnovers in the last 40 seconds as American International was pushing for the tying score.
Ciliento finished with a game-high three points and Gaffney made 10 saves in goal to lead the Golden Knights (8-8/4-8 NE10) to the win. Sophomore midfield Kaitlyn Morris registered two goals for the Yellow Jackets (3-12/1-11 NE10).
Looking ahead, Saint Rose returns to Sullivan Field at The Plumeri Sports Complex for Senior Day on Saturday at 5:00 pm against #23 Saint Anselm. American International next faces #5 Adelphi on Saturday on Long Island.
